Dallas Summer Block Party!

My friend and I went to the annual Summer Block Party here in Dallas to experience food truck cuisine, some of the new art exhibitions at the DMA and Nasher, and the crowded downtown culture! Here are some pictures from that night.

This is a beautiful room in the basement of the Nasher Sculpture Center that I’m sure they use for fancy presentations. I thought it was too nice to pass up photographing.

This is the newest exhibition at the Nasher, called WUNDERBLOCK, by Katherina Grosse, and is really unique. You can walk around inside the room and “interact” with the colorful piles of dirt.

This was another bold installation that was seen throughout the center (inside and outside). I couldn’t really find any information on this piece or its artist, so forgive me for the lack of links. It almost looks like a cousin of Katharina Grosse made this! Very similar color palette and contours.

Anyway, this was a super fun night. I believe we ate from two or three food trucks, getting tzatziki falafel wraps, margaritas, and cupcakes. I would definitely recommend this event!
